Good morning Newtown High School! Today is Thespian Thursday May 25, 2017, and it’s a G Day! The order is 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3. Please stop in the hallways and stand for the pledge.

Last night Newtown was crowned as swc champions in two sports. Girls lacrosse had a huge come from behind win over Weston 16-12 and Baseball shut out Bethel 8-0. Congratulations to both of these teams who brought the titles back to Newtown!

Time is almost out! Come pickup your yearbook in A104 from 7:30 to 2:30. The last day to get them is May 26th. Not sure if you ordered one? Make sure to check for your name outside of A104.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Up to 1 in 5 children living in the US experiences a mental disorder in the given year. 

Attention everyone: the most anticipated sporting event of the year is finally here. This Friday, come out to join the ultimate frisbee team in their senior night at 7:30 at blue and gold. If you've never seen a real game of ultimate frisbee, itll be an exciting experience. See for yourself,  Bring your friends out and support the ducks.

Want to distinguish yourself from other students when applying to colleges? Then apply for the World Language Honor Society! Applications are now available online on the World Language website or with your language teacher and are due in person to  your World Language Teacher by 2:02 tomorrow.  


Want to visit France or Spain? NICE, the Newtown International Center for Education, wants you to travel with us! Applications for next year’s NICE trips are now available! The due date is Friday, June 2. Applications can be found with all World Language teachers as well as Mrs. Fedak in the B-wing teacher offices.

Best Buddies will hold its final chapter meeting today from 2-3 in the Senior Courtyard.  Join us for Popsicles and fun!  You will have the opportunity to put your handprint on our Best Buddies mural! Also, please bring your Best Buddies Promo RSVP card to the meeting!  Best Buddies Prom is June 3!

All students planning to take AP Literature and Composition next year must attend a mandatory meeting in the Lecture Hall on May 31 from 2:10 to 2:30.  If you plan to take AP Lit and are unable to attend the meeting, you should see Ms. Parsons, Dr. Toby, or Mr. Thomas prior to the end of the school year.

Attention seniors; Senior Cabaret will be on Friday, June 9th at 7pm in the New Caf. If you would like to perform, please sign up on either of the sheets  outside of  the chorus room and the  band room by June 5th. If you have any questions, please contact Jaden Albrecht or Julia Bogdanoff. 

The fitness center and weight room will be open after school today. 

The Chess Club will meet, today, after school, in Room A203.  Newcomers are always welcome.
